A Christmas Surprise gone wrong!
Duchess's eyes fluttered open on Christmas morning. She stared at the ceiling for a moment before jumping up excitedly.
"CHRISTMAS!" she yelled, "It's Christmas!!"
She dashed to the living room as fast as her paws could carry her. There stood the Christmas tree, beautifully adorned with tinsel, baubles, and twinkling lights. Her eyes widened in wonder as they drifted down to the pile of presents at the base of the tree.
Eagerly, she scanned the gifts, searching for one with her name. There it was - a rectangular present wrapped in beautiful pink striped paper with a pretty yellow bow. Duchess's excitement grew as she anticipated what might be inside.
"I wonder what it could possibly be?" she mused aloud, "Chocolates, maybe? Oh! Maybe a box of cookies!"
Unable to contain herself any longer, she plucked the parcel from under the tree and began unwrapping it, a big smile spreading across her face.
"Ohhh a book!" she said happily as she revealed the top corner. But as she finished unwrapping it and turned it around to see the title, her expression changed dramatically.
“WEIGHT LOSS FOR CATS” The book had written on it in big bold letters. Duchess’s claws extended as she read the title, digging into the front cover.
Enraged, she flew into a fit of anger, throwing the book across the room and fighting the tree, causing decorations, pine needles and presents to go flying everywhere before the tree tumbled to the ground.
“What kind of cruel joke is this?” she belted out, still clawing at the tree, “Who did this?!”
Bruno and Boxer, who had been watching eagerly to see Duchess’s reaction to their prank gift, looked on in delighted horror.
“I knew she’d get mad but this is on a different level,” Bruno whispered to Boxer,“Let’s get out of here before we end up her next victims!”
This hilarious comic teaches us an important lesson: be VERY careful about what gifts you give. Some presents are less "Merry Christmas" and more "Meow-y Mayhem"! One wrong gift can turn your peaceful holiday into a total catastrophe - just ask Duchess!
Santa might want to take notes for next year. Some gifts are better left un-wrapped!
