A Tale of Bad Luck and Friendship

“Poor thing…” Bruno crooned softly as he pat Duchess’s head with a cold compress.“I’m sick Bruno,” Duchess said feeling sorry for herself, “I don’t think I can go over to Boxer’s today after all.”
“That’s okay,” Bruno said, “You have a fever. Just make sure to drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest.”
“Okay.”
Duchess rolled over, closed her eyes and went to sleep. After a few days, she was back to feeling her normal self. She jumped out of bed and hurried downstairs, excited to finally enjoy the outdoors again. But before you could say “Birdzilla” Duchess was back in that bed.
“It’s just one thing after another with you, what did you do this time?” Bruno scolded.
“I tripped over a branch chasing a rat and I broke my ankle,” Duchess explained.
“Well, you’re not getting any sympathy from me this time!” He said in a huff as he walked out of the room. Duchess was slightly aghast.
“What was that about?” she quietly muttered to herself, “It’s not my fault this happened right after being sick…”
A few more days of rest were had before Duchess was finally able to enjoy herself again, even in her leg cast.
“I’m telling you Bruno,” Duchess went on as they ambled toward the chicken shed,
“You have got to try smoked salm– AH CHOOOOO!!”
Bruno looked at Duchess, who returned the glance.
“Don’t you dare…”
AHHHH CHOOOOO!!!!
“Bruno… I think i’m getting sick again,” Duchess squeezed in before letting out another uproarious sneeze. Bruno just looked at her with a slightly pitying look and put his paw on her shoulder. “You’ve had a bad run buddy.”
This funny comic shows us that sometimes life just piles on the bad luck. Whether you're a cat or a human, back-to-back mishaps are not uncommon. Poor Duchess just keeps finding new ways to be down on her luck, but Bruno sticks by her, showing us the value of friendship through thick and thin.
