A cat and dog are scared from a bear because of an anecdotal fallacy

Anecdotal Fallacy: One Bear Story Too Many!

Poor Bruno just wants to enjoy a nice camping trip, but Duchess is being... well, Duchess. When Bruno calls her out on her grumpy attitude, she drops a bombshell: her great grandfather was eaten by a bear while hiking! gasp

Just as Bruno tries to calm her down with some facts and figures ("one in a million chance! and that type of thing"), Duchess spots what looks like a bear's shadow at their tent entrance. She tries to warn Bruno, but he's too busy trying to calm her down.

Turns out it's just Boxer enjoying a midnight snack outside, growling and chomping away like a furry food bear. But poor Duchess and Bruno are huddled in the corner of their tent, holding onto each other for dear life!

A cat and dog are scared from a bear because of an anecdotal fallacy

This comic shows us how one story can turn into a full-blown panic party. Sometimes our fears might seem silly (especially when they turn out to be just Boxer having a snack), but at least Duchess isn't the only scaredy-cat anymore!

Moral of the story? Maybe don't tell bear stories while camping! 🏕️🐻😱
