Duchess Unleashed: The Christmas Zoomies Disaster
Share
The day was December 1st and Bruno had spent the majority of the day decorating the house lavishly with Christmas decorations, but most important of all was the Christmas tree.
“And with that, all the decorations are up!” He looked on proudly as he put the star on top of the tree and dusted off his hands. He climbed down the ladder and switched on the lights to admire the newly decorated tree in all its glory.
WHACK!!
Duchess, out of nowhere, ran full pelt into the tree, climbed to the top and batted the star right off!
“Duchess!! What are you doing?!” Bruno yelled, “Stop it!” He could see there was no stopping her. Her pupils were huge and her ears pulled right back. It was like seeing a child hyped up on sugar but only worse.
“Get out of the tree!” he scolded, prying her paws off the branches and setting her back on the ground. “Leave it alone!”
But as soon as he let go of her, she ran straight back to the tree, using it as a scratching post and playing with the tinsel, making it fall all over the ground.
“You never let me have a good Christmas!” Bruno cried, “You always ruin it!”
Duchess stopped for a second and looked at him, as though she was about to listen to him, but Bruno knew there was no reasoning with her right now. Christmas zoomies was an ailment no cat was immune to, and Duchess had caught it!
Duchess launched herself at the tree again, twinkles from the lights in her eyes. This was the best day of her life! So many shiny things to play with and destroy, much to Bruno’s displeasure.
This Christmas caper with Bruno and Duchess is the ultimate proof that when Duchess gets the zoomies, nothing - not even Bruno's best efforts - can stop her! It's like watching a tiny tornado of joy as she turns the tree into her own festive fun zone, showing us all that when zoomies strike, it's all about embracing the wild, wacky side of the holidays!
