Duchess's Day of Doom: When Everything Goes Wrong
Share
One cool, autumn day, Duchess strolled through the yard. Leaves were scattered on the ground, and SMACK! “Oww!” she cried out. “What on earth was that?” Duchess had stepped on a rake hidden among the leaves, which had whacked her square on the nose.
Feeling cranky, Duchess ambled over to Bruno, who was busily painting the back wall. She sat down next to the ladder he was on. “Bruno, you’ll never g–” SPLAT! Before she could finish her sentence, Duchess was covered in the white paint Bruno had been using. “Oops… sorry, Duchess!” he called out.
Upset, Duchess left in a huff. Now coated in paint and more than a little annoyed, she walked to the front yard and sat by the road, looking at her reflection in a puddle. As she sat, a truck came flying down the road and splashed through the puddle beside her. “SPLASH!” Duchess was soaked to the bone and thoroughly unhappy. She went inside and flopped on her bed, defeated. “Sometimes you just have to try again tomorrow,” she mused to herself.
