The "You Too" Showdown: Bruno vs. Duchess
Share
Bruno's got a mischievous plan. He sneaks up on Duchess and plops a cucumber behind her. When she sees it, she jumps a mile high! "You're so scared of cucumbers!" Bruno laughs.
But Duchess isn't having it. She grabs a big grasshopper and chases Bruno around the room. "You're scared of grasshoppers!" she yells.
This is a classic case of the you too fallacy. Instead of addressing the issue at hand, Duchess tries to change the topic by pointing out Bruno's fear of grasshoppers.
It's like saying, "You're wrong because you're wearing a red shirt!" It doesn't make any sense.
So, the next time someone tries to use the you too fallacy, don't let them derail the conversation. Stick to the topic and keep your cool.
