"That's actually a really good point." "Yeah, but look who said it."
And just like that, the point is dead. Not because it was wrong. Not because anyone checked the facts. But because of who said it, where it came from, or what people think about the source.
Someone shares solid advice - but they're young, so it gets ignored. A news article has good data - but the website once got something wrong, so the whole thing gets binned. An idea makes perfect sense - but it came from the "wrong" person, so nobody listens.
That's the Genetic Fallacy. Your learners run into it constantly - at school, at home, online. "I'm not listening to her, she's just a kid." "That article is from that site, so it's obviously rubbish." "He dropped out of school, so his book can't be any good." The message gets thrown out because of the messenger.
This 20-page printed activity pack teaches kids to recognise when someone judges an idea based on where it came from rather than what it actually says. Through an illustrated true story, a funny comic, and hands-on activities featuring Duchess and Bruno, learners don't just memorise a definition. They understand the fallacy well enough to catch it in the wild.

THE STORY INSIDE
Every pack starts with a true story from history - not a paragraph in a textbook, but a fully illustrated, multi-page narrative.
This pack features the story of Martha Carrier and the Salem Witch Trials. Salem, 1692. The town was on edge. Smallpox had just killed 13 people in nearby Andover. Tensions over land and trade divided everyone. There were constant fears of Native American raids. And the people were deeply superstitious, believing witches were real and always nearby.
That's when Martha Carrier was accused of witchcraft. Two young girls began screaming and convulsing - and they blamed Martha. But when Martha protested her innocence - "I am wronged! These folks are out of their wits!" - nobody listened to what she was saying. They focused on WHO she was.
Three of her five children had died of smallpox. She spoke her mind. She argued with neighbours. Her brother bragged about using folk magic. Reverend Cotton Mather called her the "Queen of Hell." Judge John Hathorne didn't look for evidence of guilt. He focused on her past. Her grief, her personality, her family - all used as "proof." No spells. No witnesses. No real signs of witchcraft.
Martha pleaded innocent to the very end. She was hanged on August 19, 1692. Her name was finally cleared - twenty years later. That's the danger of the genetic fallacy. Ignoring the facts. Judging someone guilty because of who they are, not the evidence.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
Most fallacy resources are a definition on a slide and a matching worksheet. This pack teaches through storytelling. Kids don't just learn what the genetic fallacy is - they see it destroy lives in a true historical story, laugh at it in a comic, and then hunt for it in real-world examples. That's how you make a concept stick.
