"They're traitors because they're guilty. And they're guilty because they're traitors."

Read that again. It sounds like an argument. It feels like an argument. But it proves absolutely nothing. The conclusion is just the starting point wearing a different hat. No evidence. No logic. Just a loop - and 40,000 people died because of it.

That's Circular Reasoning. And your learners use it more than they realise: "This restaurant must be amazing - look at that line!" "Why's the line so long?" "It must be popular!" Plot twist: there's one guy frying and the register's been down since lunchtime.

This 20-page printed activity pack teaches kids to spot when an argument is going nowhere - just round and round in circles. Through an illustrated true story, a funny comic, and hands-on activities featuring Duchess and Bruno, learners don't just memorise a definition. They understand the fallacy well enough to catch it in the wild.

THE STORY INSIDE

Every pack starts with a true story from history - not a paragraph in a textbook, but a fully illustrated, multi-page narrative.

This pack features the story of Maximilien Robespierre and the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution. In 1793, Robespierre and his revolutionaries dreamed of freedom, equality, and fraternity. Anyone who disagreed with their vision? Branded a traitor. Their reasoning? "They're traitors because they're guilty! And they're guilty because they're traitors!"

No evidence. Just deceptive logic going round in circles. Louis Saint-Just added to the chaos: "They're evil because they oppose us, and they oppose us because they're evil!"

No need for facts - just suspicion - and suddenly heads started rolling. 16,000 of them, including Queen Marie Antoinette's. Anyone could be labelled an "enemy" without a shred of proof. Families were torn apart. Children became orphans. Blood filled the streets. By the end of the terror, about 40,000 people had died.

And in the ultimate twist? Robespierre fell into his own trap and became the traitor he had once condemned.

The pack ends with a line your learners won't forget: "Ask for proof before you start sharpening the guillotine."

WHAT'S INSIDE

✏️ Interactive Activities - Code Breaker puzzle, Match the Fallacy challenge, The Great Word Hunt, and a Draw Your Own Comic page where learners create their own fallacy scenario.

📋 Answer Sheet - For teachers, parents, and group leaders. No extra prep needed.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

Most fallacy resources are a definition on a slide and a matching worksheet. This pack teaches through storytelling. Kids don't just learn what the Circular Reasoning is - they see it destroy lives in a true historical story, laugh at it in a comic, and then hunt for it in real-world examples. That's how you make a concept stick.
